1
- What does Visual Poetry mean to you?
It is a radical means of communication. Sometimes it is objective and complete,
such as a body crossing through space. It may or may not dispense with the
word, may have an implicit beauty or not, but may always represent a collection
of colorful nuances.
2 - Who were and/or are your sources of inspiration,
your models (either poets or artistic movements) in this artistic medium?
During the sixteen years I participated in the poem-process movement, where
I had the opportunity to meet and to be acquainted with people such as Wlademir
Dias Pino, Álvaro and Neide Sá, Moacy Cirne, Joaquim and Aquiles
Branco (both my brothers) and many others with whom I learned much, including
that literature and the struggle for it are worth an entire life.
3 - Why did you choose to create, or why do you enjoy
creating, Visual Poetry as one of your artistic expressions?
I don't only make Visual Poetry, but I also sail other areas such as theater
and short stories. But everything, I try with a vanguard spirit. On the specific
case of Visual Poetry, I choose to do it because I consider it one of the
most complete means of artistic expression.
4 - When did you first adopt Visual Poetry as a mode
of expression?
Since 1968.
