Grima Grimaldi is a 45-year-old art director and video maker, born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He has worked with video art since 1988. In a partnership with Walter Silveira, he produced "II Movimento de Abertura da Sinfonia Panamérica," an electronic poem that revisits the work of José Agripino de Paula, and "Xilo VT or Elogio à Xilo," video art based on a poem written by Haroldo de Campos for Maria Bonomi’s xylograph "Portinari Reader" (Portinai Reader). The video shows unprecedented book illustrations by Portinari. Another of his works, "Arte Cidade 3," is a video documentary of the event by the same name broadcast by Canal 21. Since 1997, he has produced the video "Ofício e Silêncio," which shows the work of painter Gil Vicente from Pernambuco. In 2001, he produced and directed three videos: "Uma Conversa Com Blackberry," (A Conversation with Blackberry) "Retrovisão and Remix" (Retrovision and Remix) and "Retrovisão Pussyclip," (Pussyclip Retrovision) based on visual poems by Lenora de Barros.
