1
- What does Visual Poetry mean to you?
Nowadays it means nothing to me because I became blind, but my visual memory
is linked to the shape of the letters and their "spatialization,"
that is, the word is beautiful inside and outside.
2 - Who were and/or are your sources of inspiration, your
models (either poets or artistic movements) in this artistic medium?
Living on paradoxes, I try to synthesize the clean influence of
concretism with the dirty heritage from the porno-satirical poets
who marked me: Bocage and Gregório de Matos.
3 - Why did you choose to create, or why do you enjoy
creating, Visual Poetry as one of your artistic expressions?
I produced such genre in the 70s and 80s, before losing my eyesight, when the
poetical avant-garde was still tied to the less discursive and more experimental
poetry. I was faithful to my epoch.
4 - When did you first adopt Visual Poetry as a mode of
expression?
See the answer above. Nowadays I am again producing traditional poetry, with
meter and rhymes.
