Carli
Moore Portella began her artistic development at the Museum of Modern Art in
Rio de Janeiro in 1970. She moved on to the Center of Art Research and the School
of Visual Arts, attending courses in Basic Drawing and Painting, Engraving,
Sculpture, Art History, Critical Analysis, and Art and Technology. From 1974
to 2001, Carli participated in 28 collective exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro,
Brasília, Belo Horizonte and Germany, including the National Salon of
Modern Art/RJ and the IV National Salon/BH; "Dialect I" (Paço
Imperial/RJ, 1996); "Dialect II" (Centro de Arte Hélio Oiticica,
2001). She held several individual exhibitions at School of Visual Arts (1984),
Carioca Nights (1985), Klee Gallery (1987), Orlando Bessa Cabinet of Art (1990),
Cândido Mendes (1996), School of Visual Arts (1996), and Unirio Gallery
(2000). Her work is also included in the Brazilian Dictionary of Artists, MEC.
