Ana Aly is a 1982 graduate in Plastic Arts from FAAP. She published her first work "Objetos Diretos" in Visual Poetry. In 1983, Aly was invited to participate in "Arte e Videotexto," at the XVII Bienal Internacional de Artes of São Paulo. In the same year she entered the "Programa de Pós Graduação em Comunicação e Semiótica at PUC-São Paulo." She has participated in several exhibitions of experimental poetry and in 1991, showed her poem entitled "Cidade" as one of the outdoor commemorations for the "100 Years of Avenida Paulista." In 1990, Aly moved to Italy where she is working in painting. Simultaneous to her work in visual poetry and painting, she designed book covers for several publishing houses, such as Edunicamp, San Diego State University, Experimento, and for books by poet Philadelpho Menezes (her husband). Aly has also participated in the show "Entre Hasard et Nécessité" at Fort de Bruissin, Lyon, France.
