1 - What does Visual Poetry mean to you?
Poetry was always a visual art. So-called visual poetry is nothing more than the product that results from experimenting with the visual form until one discovers that the written word is only one element of poetry. As an artist and poet, for me visual poetry continues to represent a hybrid between written poetry and visual art.

2 - Who were and/or are your sources of inspiration, your models (either poets or artistic movements) in this artistic medium?
My interest, which began in the 1970s -- and was influenced by the current avant-garde movements in literature, art and architecture -- led me to discover visual poetry, and process poetry, and I ended up adopting visualpoetry, or semiotics, as a focus in my own artistic work.

3 - Why did you choose to create, or why do you enjoy creating, Visual Poetry as one of your artistic expressions?
To dispense, at first, with translation, and out of an interest in the possibilities of different mediums, including the word, in my work. I devoted myself to visual poetry in the 1970s, and I've continued working in that medium until the present.

4 - When did you first adopt Visual Poetry as a mode of expression?
Since 1972, I have been creating works of visua,l poetry.
